Hollywood
Stand-Ins
This
division of LAonSTAGE is
a stand-in management company used by a growing list
of Hollywood's top television and film production
companies and casting directors. Actors are screened, auditioned
and thoroughly trained in the art of being a stand-in for LA's
top leading actors.
Actors
are selected for the Hollywood
Stand-Ins roster based on
a thorough audition process and a professional
reference check.
Hollywood Stand-Ins jobs
pay really well, but require long hours, dependability, a
positive attitude, and of course,
talent. To submit yourself for possible representation, please
submit your headshot to casting@HollywoodStandIns.com. Please
include
your resume including height, weight and a list of working
actors who you think you might resemble. GREAT PAY!

A
stand-in is a substitute for a film or television actor during
technical rehearsals
of a production. Stand-ins note the exact movements and
timing of lines of the actor they are shadowing, and assist
the director
and
crew
by repeating those moves while the main actors leave
the set. The
starring actors are called "first team" and
their stand-ins are called "second team."
Stand-ins
may be asked by the director to read lines in place
of the actor during breaks or absences, but
the main
purpose
of a stand-in is for lighting and stage blocking
(the actor's movements). They usually work with the Director
of Photography
(DP) to ensure proper camera angles and lighting
needs
are met, allowing the first team to accomplish other
things, or to simply
rest.
A
stand-in is generally the same height and size as the main
actor, and skin and hair coloring may also
affect
the lighting
process. They do not have to look exactly like
the star, but size and skin tone are important for the
effects
of lighting on the main actor's face, the set,
and the other
actors in
the
shot.
"Stand-ins
communicate changes in blocking to the main actor when that
person returns to the set,
unless the
director
prefers to
do it."
